However is a continuing process, as Google updates there algorithm all the site and your competitors invest in creating better usability and content, and may invest more in distribution articles to other websites and paid promotion to increase traffic.

SEO is used to get relevant traffic of users who are looking for your products/services on search engines such as Google and Bing. Basically it means making more sales.
